Horizon Yachts

HORIZON HISTORY

In 1987, naval architect John Lu founded Horizon Yacht in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, driven by a lifelong passion for the sea and a vision to build world-class luxury yachts. Originally an OEM builder, Horizon quickly launched its own 13 and 17-meter models, and after a U.S. market slowdown, strategically shifted focus to Europe and Asia, establishing its global footprint. Despite challenges during the global financial crisis, the shipyard adopted a bold “self-build, self-market” strategy, completing 16 superyachts and reinforcing its brand identity. Over three decades, Horizon has grown into the world’s fifth-largest custom yacht builder, known for advanced technology, refined craftsmanship, and unwavering dedication to client vision. Today, it continues to expand globally, admired for its award-winning fleet of bespoke yachts.

HORIZON PHILOSOPHY

Horizon’s philosophy is less a slogan than a discipline: innovation, precision, trust. Every yacht is built entirely in-house in Taiwan, a deliberate choice that allows the shipyard to command every stage of design and construction. Technology advances are folded into the process, yet the architecture remains flexible enough to mirror the personality of each owner. Partnerships with leading designers and certification bodies strengthen both form and safety. Behind it all lies a network of research, engineering, and service that turns vessels into something more than machines — enduring objects shaped for the sea, and for those who cross it.
