LAUREL is a very large, spacious yacht with so many different lounges, bars and dining spaces (both inside and out) that the 12 guests could easily lose each other for days! But that would be a shame as this is a comfortable, convivial yacht, decorated in the classic American style. Neutral shades and rich polished woods predominate – sofas and chairs are traditional, richly patterned in various shades of taupe. On deck, nautical blue and white cushions adorn wooden and wicker chairs and sofas. From the top: the sun deck has a large inside space, including a gym and forward observation lounge which opens forwards to a bar and seating. Aft there is a shaded Jacuzzi and a row of sun loungers. The upper deck is home to the main outside dining table, protected from above so perfect for a sunny lunch. Inside, the sky lounge is a very light bright cream room (perhaps inspired by the painting of the Jersey cow that hangs here) and there is yet another dining table. A smaller forward lounge acts as a cosy library or TV room. The full-beam master suite on the main deck has access to both side decks, which effectively form two long private terraces; ideal for a nightcap or morning coffee. Aft, the main dining area and saloon are grand spaces, reminiscent of a large family mansion. Out on deck there is still ample room for an outdoor saloon, with a group of wicker sofas and chairs arranged together. The lazarette on the lower deck opens out to form a modest beach club, ideal for embarking on a diving adventure, or perhaps a spin on a jetski. Being a PADI training centre and RYA water sports centre – this is a great opportunity to brush up your skills.
