Porto Carlo Riva is the most prominent and upscale marina in Rapallo. Located centrally along the seafront, it has around 250 berths for yachts up to 60m. in length. Known for its elegant facilities and named after the legendary yacht designer Carlo Riva, the marina provides a full suite of services including a fuel station, water and electricity hookups, 24/7 security, maintenance, and a shipyard. 

Adjacent to Porto Carlo Riva is the Marina di Rapallo, also referred to as the public port. This marina has approximately 250 berths and mainly accommodates smaller vessels. While it offers more basic services such as utilities and mooring assistance, it benefits from proximity to the town center, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the scenic promenade. 

Also located within the harbor area is the Circolo Nautico Rapallo (Rapallo Nautical Club). Though smaller and primarily intended for club members, it maintains a charming and authentic atmosphere. It has limited mooring options along with a sailing school and hosts various local events and regattas. 

Yacht charter rates in Rapallo vary depending on the type and size of the vessel, the duration of the charter, and the time of year. The high season - particularly July and August - sees the highest demand and pricing, as visitors flock to the Ligurian coast for warm weather, cultural events, and the lively atmosphere along the Italian Riviera.

For a more peaceful and cost-effective experience, chartering during the shoulder months of May, June, or September is recommended. These periods typically feature favorable weather and calm seas, with fewer crowds and increased yacht availability.

Charters in Rapallo are generally arranged on a weekly basis, though extended charters can often be negotiated at discounted rates. Early reservations are advisable, particularly during peak summer months or major events in nearby Portofino or Genoa. In Rapallo, yacht charters are subject to a 22% VAT on the base price. An Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), usually between 35% and 45% of the charter fee, is also required to cover variable costs such as fuel, provisions, mooring fees, and crew gratuities. At the end of the charter, any unused APA is refunded, and any additional expenses are settled accordingly.
