MENGI YAY HISTORY
Founded in 1964 by Ramazan Mengi, Mengi Yay Yachts began as a small workshop in Istanbul, crafting fishing and rowing boats. By the 1980s, the company had moved to Tuzla and started building larger wooden yachts, including Turkey’s longest gulet at the time. Under Hüseyin Mengi’s leadership from 1996, Mengi Yay evolved into a modern shipyard producing steel and aluminum superyachts. Milestones include the 42-meter Gweilo (2008), the 40-meter Serenity II (2010), and the fuel-efficient Aquarius (2016). Today—with facilities in Yalova—Mengi Yay continues to blend Turkish craftsmanship with advanced yacht engineering.
MENGI YAY PHILOSOPHY
Mengi Yay believes that caring means acting. For more than 50 years, the shipyard has been committed to building yachts that embody sustainability, innovation, and reliability. With the utmost respect for the sea and through the use of proprietary technologies—ranging from smart glass bridge systems to hybrid and electric propulsion derived from the automotive and aerospace industries—Mengi Yay creates yachts that reflect efficiency, quality, and lifelong trust in service. The shipyard continues to shape the future of yachting through forward-focused innovation, responsible craftsmanship, and a passion for excellence.
