LAGOON HISTORY
Lagoon was established in 1984 as a dedicated multihull division of Jeanneau, focused on creating new offshore racing catamarans. The first cruising model — the Lagoon 55 — was launched in 1987, establishing its reputation for performance and luxury. In 1992, Lagoon became part of the Beneteau Group, expanding production and the markets where it was sold. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Lagoon broadened its range and set the standard for new innovations. The Lagoon 440 was the first catamaran serial-production model with a flybridge helm, and the hybrid Lagoon 420 set the new standard for green performance cruising catamarans.
LAGOON PHILOSOPHY
The tenets of Lagoon’s philosophy are elegance, conviviality, and safety. Their focus is on creating the highest onboard comfort and quality of life with spacious and easy-to-use designs that open up interior and exterior spaces for seamless transitions. The brand has always focused on innovations that are safe and easy to operate, as well as strong construction and a stable yacht for long-haul voyages. Durability and comfort, rather than performance, have always taken precedence. Lagoon continues to maintain a large owner community and represents a significant advancement in sustainable practices and technologies in its new designs.
