About Canados Yachts

Founded near Rome, Canados is an Italian yacht builder with roots in military shipbuilding before turning to luxury yachts in the early 1950s. Over the decades, the yard has launched more than 800 yachts, each reflecting a balance of traditional Italian craftsmanship and advanced composite technology. Most of the production—from design and engineering to carpentry and metalwork—is carried out in-house, giving Canados full control over quality and customization. The company’s portfolio includes three distinct ranges: elegant Canados flybridge yachts, performance-driven Gladiator sport cruisers, and Oceanic long-range expedition yachts that pair innovative design with timeless Italian style.

Canados Yachts

CANADOS HISTORY

Canados was founded in 1946 on a former hydroplane base near Rome, just seven km from Fiumicino Airport. Initially building vessels for the Italian Navy, coastguard, and harbor masters, the cooperative of master carpenters—whose name derives from Cantieri Navali di Ostia—quickly earned global respect. In 1953, after witnessing the launch of eight fast patrol boats, a Gulf royal commissioned a custom yacht, marking Canados’ entry into luxury yacht building. Since then, the yard has delivered over 800 yachts. Across nearly eight decades, Canados has remained committed to craftsmanship, innovation, and the pursuit of perfection in every project.

CANADOS PHILOSOPHY

Each Canados yacht is a bespoke creation, shaped by a philosophy of vertical integration that guarantees complete control over every stage of production—from naval architecture to interior outfitting.
