Azimut Yachts

Azimut Yachts History

Founded in 1969 by Paolo Vitelli, Azimut began as a chartering and yacht distribution business before quickly evolving into a builder of distinction. Its first model, the AZ 43’ Bali, set the tone for innovation, while the AZ 32' Targa of 1977 redefined entry-level luxury with its sporty coupe design and pioneering sunroof. By 1982, Azimut had already claimed leadership of composite construction with the 32-meter Failaka, a yacht which was at the time the world's largest GRP production yacht. Strategic acquisitions, most notably of Benetti, catalyzed their meteoric rise into the superyacht arena for projects marrying Italian elegance with the most sophisticated engineering. By the 1990s new facilities in Fano, Viareggio and Avigliana solidified their industrial capability. Azimut is now synonymous with precedent-setting design from frameless windows to hard top styling and hull-side glass and is arguably the most important modern name in yacht building.

Azimut Yachts Philosophy

Azimut Yachts emphasizes Italian elegance, innovation, and sustainability. Every yacht is characterized by stunning design, precise craftsmanship, and engineering excellence that always delivers performance and comfort. Every detail — from exterior to efficient propulsion — is an expression of the brand ethos. Sustainability is a priority, incorporating renewable materials and technologies recognizing climate change and global warming. Further, Azimut invests in research and development and human capital so that every yacht can claim to lead world standards for technology, safety, and onboard comfort. The result is a vessel combining luxury, innovation, and sustainability, giving every owner and charterer unparalleled enjoyment.
