Alloy Yachts

About Alloy Yachts

Alloy Yachts was a pioneering New Zealand shipyard famed for custom aluminium sailing and motor superyachts from roughly 30 to over 60 meters in length. Founded in the mid‑1980s after the success of the 28-meter performance yacht Chanel, the yard quickly built a reputation for meticulous craftsmanship, engineering excellence, and ocean‑going seaworthiness. Under long‑time managing director Tony Hambrook, Alloy Yachts expanded into ever larger, globally recognized superyachts that blended race‑bred technology with luxurious interiors. The yard’s portfolio includes award‑winning yachts such as Vertigo, Tiara, Georgia, and Loretta Anne, many of which became highly sought after on the charter market. Though the shipyard ceased trading in 2016, Alloy Yachts remains influential as a benchmark for high‑quality Southern Hemisphere yacht building.
