At the crossroads of East and West, Turkey offers a yacht charter experience defined by contrasts: Byzantine treasures in Istanbul, the timeless ruins of Ephesus, and the crystalline waters of the Turquoise Coast. The shoreline unfolds in hidden coves, pine-clad hills, and whitewashed villages alive with bougainvillea; lively harbors such as Bodrum, Marmaris, and Gocek pair cosmopolitan energy with refined marina facilities. Beyond the coast, Roman amphitheaters, Ottoman palaces, and spice-scented bazaars remind visitors of Turkey’s layered history. The season stretches from May to October, with warm seas and reliable winds, and the charter fleet ranges from traditional gulets to sleek superyachts. Few destinations boast such a rich interplay of culture, landscape, and effortless cruising.

Cost of Yacht Charters in Turkey
Prices in Turkey depend on such factors as the season, the yacht, and duration of the charter. July and August coincide with the region’s ideal sailing conditions, attracting more visitors and pushing prices upward; shoulder months (April and October) bring more flexibility and better deals, especially for early bookings. A week-long charter is typical. Longer bookings, in turn, may come with reduced daily rates.
Turkey applies a 20% VAT to the charter fee. Then there’s the APA—Advance Provisioning Allowance—typically 30 to 35% of the charter fee, set aside for fuel, provisioning, berths, and any extras that come up along the way. Any unused funds are refunded, while any overages are invoiced separately.
Best Time for Yacht Charter in Turkey
From May through October, yacht charters in Turkey are most popular, with July and August being the busiest months. In May and June, the country takes on a more intimate, peaceful vibe thanks to warmer weather, fewer tourists, and calmer waves. By September and October, the weather is milder and the seas remain pleasant, offering a more leisurely cruise with moderate winds and longer daylight.
