OVERVIEW
MARIE looks like a classic sailing ketch of old, but on closer inspection, it’s clear she’s a modern superyacht with carbon fibre spas and fantastic amenities. Her long black hull and towering black masts create a dramatic profile as MARIE cuts through the water; heeling to the wind she can make 17 knots on a close reach… Wide open decks are great for lounging once she’s at anchor, and the very large cockpit can easily accommodate all guests for dining or relaxing on her wraparound banquette seats. MARIE is constructed like an early 20th century gentleman’s yacht, and there is a definite, if quirky sense of history. How many yachts have working cannons? Or a mini suit of armour on display? Her interior design is also traditional; warm anigre panelling and ochre reds blend with cream furnishings to create an elegant, welcoming main saloon. Split across two levels, up in the deck house there is an attractive bar and seating area with views. Down a few steps you find the piano lounge, with loose sofas and chairs so guests can arrange themselves as they please. Forward you’ll find the dining room, lit from above by a huge skylight. This advantageous feature is shared by the VIP double next door. The remaining guest cabins lie aft, a twin and twin/double convertible each with a pullman – great for kids. Then you come to the full-beam master suite. This is a real treat, steps lead up to a private office/lounge and then out into the private aft cockpit, perfect for a romantic nightcap or cosy breakfast. Guests are also encouraged to sail the launch Marietta, a classic little dinghy (with sails and engine.) Children might find it easier to learn to sail the Pico dinghies; all will enjoy the kayaks and SUPs.
