OVERVIEW
DUNIA BARU is fantastic collaboration between a US marine architect and traditional boat builders from Sulawesi, who travelled to the source of the finest timber in Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo) to construct this beautiful phinisi (a traditional Indonesian sailing yacht.) The interiors were constructed in Bali, giving her an exotic, warm feel. She now travels the warm seas from the Pacific through Indonesia to Thailand and Burma, offering an authentic, yet luxurious taste of South East Asia. Her beautiful woodwork is well in evidence; the guest cabins on the lower deck can admire her ironwood hull as it makes up the walls of their staterooms… The master suite is found high on the bridge deck with doors opening directly outside, a fabulous feature. Yet another is the open galley with teppanyaki grill, where guests can watch the chef skilfully turn the day’s catch into a delicious meal. (There is another professional galley on board.) You can choose to eat in the galley diner, but the most popular spot is the outside dining area on the aft deck where you can enjoy the night breezes and spectacular views of tropical islands. DUNIA BARU is a very special superyacht – and totally different from the vast majority of the fleet – a wooden yacht, hand made by boatbuilders whose families have been involved in this craft for hundreds of years.
