OVERVIEW
MY COLUMBIA offers a truly special yachting experience. The super yacht is, as close as possible, a perfect replica of the original Columbia, which was built in 1923 at the historic AD Story shipyard in Massachusetts. The modern navigation systems have been hidden away so that they do not ruin the impression. The steel hull is the only obvious nod to modern ship building techniques. Extensive outdoor areas provide a perfect place for guests to enjoy the unique sailing experience aboard MY COLUMBIA. The exterior styling has remained as close as possible to the original Columbia, including traditional blocks and rigging. The large, open plan galley has the feel of a traditional country kitchen. The saloon features natural wood and occasional flashes of colour. The formal dining area sits opposite a sofa with an adjustable table that can be raised to cocktail heights. A skylight in the saloon floods the room with natural light as well as allowing fresh air to circulate. While MY COLUMBIA features air conditioning, it also boasts an electric fire to ensure that it is prepared for any weather conditions. Traditional styling doesn’t get in the way of luxury in the guests’ cabins. The master cabin includes a jacuzzi bath for guests to unwind in after a day of sailing, and underwater lighting and a top of the range modern multimedia entertainment system also add a modern feel to the traditional yacht. The original Columbia was used as a fishing vessel as well as racing, and MY COLUMBIA comes with fishing gear for the guests to use as well as having snorkelling gear on board. Sailing on MY COLUMBIA is to step back in time and enjoy a new perspective on historical sailing.
