CRN HISTORY

CRN was founded in Ancona, Italy, in 1963. During the 1980s, the shipyard specialized in building large steel and aluminum yachts, gaining recognition among Greek and Middle Eastern royals. A milestone came in 1986 with the delivery of 61-meter Il Vagabondo, followed in 1987 by 68-meter Awal. In 1999, CRN joined the Ferretti Group, which expanded its facilities and introduced composite construction, allowing output of up to 15 yachts annually. The yard established its reputation for record-breaking launches in the 21st century, including 72-meter Azteca in 2010 and 80-meter Chopi Chopi in 2013. The year 2022 was a standout period for CRN, marked by the delivery of two exceptional superyachts: the 52-meter CIAO and the 62-meter RIO. These vessels, featuring designs from the prestigious Dutch firm Omega Architects, were met with significant acclaim. This success was further cemented when RIO garnered the "Best Naval Architecture" award for displacement yachts at the 2023 BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards.
