Couach Yachts

COUACH HISTORY

Couach Yachts traces its origins to 1897 when Albert Couach founded a shipyard in Arcachon, France, pioneering early marine engines. In 1902, the first motorized “pinasse” boat for the Arcachon Bay was built. After World War II, Albert’s grandson, Guy Couach, took charge and shifted the focus toward building high-performance commercial and military boats. In 1962, Guy founded the Guy Couach shipyard, which propelled his inventive engineering sensibility into yacht construction, including lightweight composites such as Kevlar.  The company evolved through several ownerships and in 2009 re-emerged as Chantier Naval Couach, blending French craftsmanship with modern technology to build bespoke luxury yachts.
