Benetti is a renowned luxury yachting brand with a rich history dating back to the merger of two prominent Italian yards: Fratelli Benetti, established in Viareggio in 1873, and Fratelli Orlando, founded in Livorno in 1866. Originally, the Benetti yard built wooden merchant vessels, but after World War II, it shifted to constructing cruising ships made of steel.
In the early 1960s, Benetti transitioned from wood to steel and began building superyachts. The success of their new endeavor exceeded the wildest expectations of its founders. By the mid-1980s, the company had an impressive fleet with yachts ranging from 30 to 60 meters. Their flagship vessel was the 86-meter Nabila, built at the request of Saudi businessman Adnan Khashoggi, who desired the most luxurious and modern yacht possible at that time.
Benetti has always positioned itself as a boutique company for the world elite
In 1985, the Benetti yard, which had been a family business for 111 years, was acquired by Paolo Vitelli's Azimut Group. Since 2000, the company has been at the forefront of introducing new shipbuilding technologies and was among the first to utilize lightweight composite materials.
Today, Benetti is renowned for its unique style and unparalleled quality. The brand's distinctive trait is its commitment to shipbuilding traditions while also incorporating the latest innovations and luxurious Italian-style interiors. The company specializes in constructing custom and semi-custom yachts, offering comprehensive support to clients throughout the entire construction process. They are highly responsive to client requirements and allow modifications to be made during the construction process.
