OVERVIEW

There is a real art to balancing the indoor and outdoor spaces on a superyacht, to anticipate the varying needs of all charter guests, and FLAG achieves this brilliantly. The sun deck is the most obviously ‘outside’ area – with huge open deck space to aft allowing for loungers, a full bar and dining table. By night this is the perfect spot to enjoy the blaze of the stars – by day, the sun’s heat can be assuaged with awnings. Forwards the very large glass-fronted pool is embedded within raised sun pads… It’s always nice to have the gym up here with a view – but can be a bit hot – the solution is to enclose it together with the sweeping staircase that takes you below. The interiors feel just as spacious and open as the sun deck; they are super bright thanks to use of the palest of off-white furnishings, with highlights of navy, often trimmed with a little dark wood. This seems in keeping with the harmony between inside and out – you do not feel you are retreating into a cave – and the relaxed theme seems to add to the close-to-the-water feel. The main saloon is informal yet smart, and wonderfully open without any division between the lounge and dining areas. The sky lounge feels different with its navy striped rug and more contemporary furniture, but throughout the interiors feel comfortable and tranquil. Having four large double cabins, plus two smaller ones with a double and single bed each means there are many options for guest configuration. And with her generous array of watertoys, FLAG would be a great charter yacht for almost any group whether family, friends or colleagues.
